Effects of the Virtual Reality Rehabilitation Program on Cognitive function, Upper limb function, and ADL Ability of Stroke Patients

Abstract
|

|
Objective : This study was conducted to find out the impact of the virtual reality rehabilitation program using RAPAEL Smart Glove on cognitive function, upper limb fuction, and ADL ability of stroke patients.
Methods : 30 patients were randomly assigned to virtual reality rehabilitation program or functional task training. The experimental group performed virtual reality rehabilitation program and the control group performed functional task training. Intervention was performed 40 minutes a day, three times a week, and eight weeks.
Results : Both groups showed a significant improvement in their cognitive function, upper limb fuction and ADL ability. After the intervention, significant differences in the total score of MMSE and MFT were observe.
Conclusion : In conclusion, it is desirable to perform Virtual Reality Rehabilitaion Program so as to improve Cognitive function, Upper limb function, and ADL Ability in Chronic stroke patients.
